REFRACTORY BRICKS

Refractory Bricks for Metallurgical Furnaces and Vessels

GAA-MinRef supplies selected basic refractory brick products for iron, steel, cement, and non-ferrous metallurgical applications. Product selection must be based on the vessel, wear zone, slag chemistry, temperature, and operating practice.

Magnesia Bricks

Fired or fused magnesia-based bricks used where high refractoriness, structural stability, and resistance to basic slags are required.

  • Electric arc furnace walls and bottoms
  • Cement kiln burning zones
  • Copper and lead smelting furnaces
  • Other high-temperature basic refractory zones

Magnesia-Carbon Bricks

Magnesia combined with graphite and resin-bonded systems, selected for high thermal-shock resistance and resistance to molten steel and slag penetration.

  • Steel ladle slag lines
  • EAF sidewalls and slag zones
  • Converter refractory systems

Magnesia-Dolomite-Carbon Bricks

Basic refractory systems based on MgO, CaO, and graphite for demanding metallurgical service.

  • Specialty steel ladles
  • AOD and VOD vessels
  • Zones requiring resistance to aggressive basic slags
Precise brick chemistry, strength, porosity, bulk density, certifications, and service life are not published here and are provided only with an approved product-specific technical data sheet.
